The Robb Elementary School teacher who propped open an exterior door that law enforcement said a gunman used to get inside and kill 19 students and two teachers had closed the door but it did not lock, state police said Tuesday.

An exterior door at Robb Elementary School did not lock when it was closed by a teacher shortly before a gunman used it to get inside and kill 19 students and two teachers, leaving investigators searching to determine why, state police said Tuesday.

"We did verify she closed the door. The door did not lock. We know that much and now investigators are looking into why it did not lock," Considine said. "She came back out while on her phone, she heard someone yell, `He has a gun!', she saw him jump the fence and that he had a gun, so she ran back inside," removing the rock when she did, Considine said.

San Antonio attorney Don Flanary told the San Antonio Express-News that the Robb Elementary School employee, whom he's not naming, first propped open the door to carry food from a car to a classroom, and that she immediately moved to close it when she realized the danger. Steven McCraw, the head of the Texas Department of Public Safety, has said Arredondo treated the active scene as a hostage situation and as if children were no longer at risk, while 19 police officers waited in the school hallway outside the classroom where Ramos was.

Is door death penalty still a thing in the states? Sounds just as silly as a door stoping a shooter... huh?

Can we stop hearing about the door... Police failed... parents failed... society failed... The door did its job... Let's start doing ours...

Anything to cover their sorry asses for not doing their jobs.

I hope that door gets the punishment it deserves

what?

I promise you nobody gives 2 fucks about the door or it’s inability to lock.

anything to avoid gun talk lol

The Texas police are lying.

And based on their reports. My money is they totally shot multiple people in there.

Everything cops say should be investigated before being reported. They have PR departments that are experts in making them look good. I don't see why the guys that fucked up should be able to write half the official story.

More lies, y’all.

True stories never change.

hodgetwins Guess that propped open door bs was found to be bs!!

Sure it didn't. Sure.

Those 17 officers need to be held criminally accountable here. They stood by and did fuck all for an hour when the shooter picked people off. Charge them with 22 counts of homicide, because they are just as complicit as the shooter was.
