Parliament arson-accused Zandile Mafe lost his appeal for bail, but has vowed to keep fighting all the way to the Constitutional Court so that he doesn't have to wait in prison for his trial. | itchybyte

Zandile Mafe's attempt at appealing the refusal of his bail was not successful. However, his lawyer said that he would appeal it up to the highest court in the land if necessary.

He first appeared in court on 4 January, and on 11 January when he expected to be applying for bail, he was referred for mental observation. Even photos of alleged arsonist, supposedly at Parliament, don't count in his bail bid - Dali Mpofu arguesCape Town Regional Court Magistrate Michelle Adams denied bail, and his lawyers approached the Western Cape High Court. Lekhuleni and Thulare came to a split decision, so Nziweni was brought to the bench.

itchybyte Parliament burned then top lawyers of EFF representing this guy why🤔

itchybyte So now Mafe/EFF craze is running out of steam. The guy is no longer trending on Twitter. Probably most people have seen through the EFF and the ever incoherent Dali Mpofu.

itchybyte But do they really believe that this guy put parliament on fire🤔

itchybyte He decolonised parliament. He believes in a bush parliament.

itchybyte You and your bosses are such an evil breed.

itchybyte Good. He will squeal eventually. By releasing him someone will make him disappear for good.
