The GOP lawmaker, who backs gun rights, said Sunday he's 'open' to a ban or certification for AR-15s.

"What you're seeing right now is all these politicians that are scared to death to talk about the gun issue. They know that this is an issue, but they're scared to talk about it so they launch into this thing about mental health," he said.

The congressman explained that while he agrees mental health is a problem, he"highly doubts" the politicians using it to evade gun control have funded mental healthcare. Kinzinger also knocked proposals to introduce other security measures into schools. The Republican lawmaker also said that while he previously opposed bans on AR-15 rifles, which is a weapon commonly used by mass shooters, he is now open to a ban. He’s a gop flake at the end of his term Adam Suckinger

Evil does not exist within a gun. It exists in the minds and hearts of those who pull the trigger for evil purposes! Remove evil people. End of problem!

Why not ban criminals?

I actually like Kinzinger but he’s looking for friends… claiming to be “principled” while selling out his former principles because he needs people to hang out with in DC, should not be taken seriously at all

Mighty nice of him. I guess he wasn’t born until after the Sandy Hook massacre. RepKinzinger do better please

Republicans oppose gun reform because they recognize that easy access to guns may be the only way left for them to cling to political power.

Scared of what? Anti-American gun grabbing 🤡🤡🤡
