High-profile barrister Lincoln Crowley QC has made history by becoming the first Indigenous person appointed to a Supreme Court bench in Australia. 7NEWS

He is Warramunga man from the Northern Territory who grew up in Charters Towners in north Queensland.He will be Queensland’s second Indigenous judge, with Nathan Jarro appointed to the District Court in 2018.

Crowley’s experience includes being a senior counsel assisting the disability royal commission, as well as representing former Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale in a high-profile extortion trial.“Mr Crowley has regularly appeared throughout Australia but particularly in Queensland, New South Wales and Victorian courts across a diverse range of matters, especially criminal trials and appeals,” Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said in announcing his appointment.

He has also prosecuted for the Commonwealth and Queensland, having been appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2018, including in the case of Queensland-based terror plotter Agim Kruezi, who was jailed for 17 years in 2018. He started his career as a solicitor advocate with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service in Queensland, before being appointed to the bar in 2003.National Reconciliation Week is an annual event for Australians to celebrate and learn about First Nations history, culture and achievements.“’Be Brave. Make Change.’ is a challenge to us all to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can Make Change for all,” says Reconciliation Australia.

Great to see, hopefully he condemns Dictator Dans mandates banning thousands and thousands of indigenous people from working, he forced them onto welfare, they are losing their houses, struggling to feed their kids with many homeless now over winter

when he is one of the top adviser to our first freely elected President then I'll be impressed, cookies from the queen austrepublic

Hopefully this will equate to less violence and anti social behaviour from his community.

What was the argument about? Imagine the look on that deputy principal's face: Crowley is doing better than what everyone projected and expected. But if you look at it, the deputy principal is correct, indigenous (a lot) do get locked up , But this guy done well But , I'm wondering, sure private schooling , but where did the money come from for this funding?
