What would make you ditch your car and take the bus? The state is trying to figure out how to motivate more people to ride RTD

was this year’s highest-profile bid by Polis and lawmakers to support alternatives to driving.

, called Pegasus, for the Memorial Day weekend. The service, which is aimed at recreational riders, will run 11-passenger vans roughly hourly in each direction between Denver and Avon from Fridays through Sundays.

Never riding bus or RTD. 15 min drive home in car. I would have to train to wads than bus to 285.

More routes, less junkies

Absolutely nothing

Less nut jobs and smelly people on the bus.

Nothing. Ever. Apparently those doing this study have never taken the bus. It's dirty, unsafe and takes hours to do a trip that would take 15 mins in your own car. Oh and they're never on time. So nothing. The state can kick rocks.

No one takes the bus except for people who can’t drive or people who lost their license who wants to be on the bus for 2 hours when it would normally be 20 minutes in a car?

Regular service (meaning every 10-15min) in the burbs to the light rail on busses that don’t get stuck in Wadsworth traffic. Or, expand commuter rail across the metro including trams, and light rail as well as regional passenger rail service…Chaffee, Park, Lake, Summit, etc.

Busses get stuck in traffic same as cars, if I have to sit in traffic I’d rather be in control. Trains/light rails are nice because they detour and don’t have the same issues but they don’t have a wide enough network to be useful.

Gotta run transit more often and later at night with better timed transfers

More bus stops, scheduled pick ups every 6 minutes and several routes. Living in London you see first hand public transportation working.

The train is already free. I haven't been checked for a fare in over a year. This lack of security is why there is open drug use EVERY day ON the train. RideRTD cannot provide adequate security so while the idea might be good it wasn't fully thought thru.

The neighborhood routes run later, and it is easier/more affordable to use.

More stops, more routes, 24-hour scheduling, more Park & Ride lots in foothills, better parking security....

Get rid of the mask mandate as a starter.

The buses are not new, people on the bus talk loud and smell like pee.

The denver Bus SUCKS!

Waiting for transit for 20-30 mins w no shelter from sun, rain, or snow is something of a dealbreaker for a lot of people.

Scheduling more buses and expanding high volume express buses. Seriously waiting for a bus at night is a safely issue for workers that work late.

If the Governor and all state government officials got rid of their cars and only took public transportation, that would be a great start

I'll never ditch my vehicle. You can't force public transportation on people. But if you do get rid of rtd and start a new public transportation company.

More buses and better connections, honestly. I'm a 15 minute drive from the office but if I take the bus it's about an hour each way, and I have to time things perfectly and hope my promised bus arrives. A good bit of that time is also waiting for a transfer bus.

I don't have a car so I dunno

- Make public transportation safer and cleaner - Stop Democrat Defund the Police - End Democrat DA catch and release - Public transportation must not exceed 1.5x time traveled if I took my car

Nothing.
