Amber Heard and her ex-husband Johnny Depp’s highly publicised defamation trial is set to end soon, with closing arguments scheduled for Friday , but each court session has brought with it astonishing new information.
The 36-year-old actress had claimed the week before that besides struggling to maintain her career after Depp levelled allegations of abuse against her, she also had to “fight really hard” to stay in the upcoming Aquaman sequel. Heard had played the love interest Mera opposite Jason Momoa's lead character Aquaman in the 2018 original, as well as in 2017's Justice League film.
According to Hamada, the sequel was set to be something of a “buddy comedy” from the get-go between Momoa's Aquaman and his half-brother, Ocean Master, played by Patrick Wilson. Outside of that, the studio’s reason for wanting to recast Mera and reducing the role was a lack of chemistry between her and Momoa.
