A man has been charged following the alleged theft of a $500,000 McLaren vehicle at Crown Melbourne.

The vehicle left the casino at 3am yesterday morning, after it was allegedly checked out of Crown Melbourne valet by a man. "I gave them the valet ticket and they said, no you took it at 3am," the vehicle's driver Johnny Nahlous said.A Sydney car hire company is threatening legal action against Crown Melbourne, claiming a valet worker handed a thief the keys to a $500,000 McLaren vehicle.Police tracked the vehicle to West Footscray this afternoon, arresting a 43-year-old man.

"We take security matters extremely seriously and we have commenced an internal investigation as a matter of priority," they said.

I aint even a thief but wouldn't it be better just to steal a old holden instead of something that stands out like a beacon.
