A Kyiv court Monday ruled that a 21-year-old Russian soldier who killed a civilian was guilty of war crimes and handed him a life sentence, in the first verdict against Moscow's forces since their invasion.

The youthful serviceman looked on from the glass defence box as the verdict was read out in Ukrainian. An interpreter translated for him into Russian.“This is the most severe sentence and any level-headed person would challenge it,” Ovsyannikov, said following the court session, adding “I will ask for the cancellation of the court’s verdict”.

“That doesn’t mean we won’t try through other channels. The fate of every Russian citizen is of paramount importance to us,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. The landmark ruling is expected to be followed by others, with Ukraine opening thousands of war crimes cases since Moscow’s invasion.

Only in Nigeria a solider can do anything. You will hear that they have been arrested but that will be the end of the story.

Some will come to a conclusion that 90% of Nigerians are corrupt, & quick to commit crimes. Though the statistic might be wrong, with just 10% of Nigerians who is not into crime or evil practice, Nigeria can still be great. If you are among the 10% follow AGreatNigeria3 now

He deserves it.

Looks like aitch 😂

🤣🤣 war crime? Cause it's Ukraine? If you want to convict a war criminal that'll be satisfactory, convict Biden, Hillary Clinton at least for a start. They've killed more innocent people on earth that Russian has killed more soldiers in Ukraine.
