Mr Duncan-Smith made the call in a report by the Centre for Social Justice. He says that the cut to the Universal Credit taper will be eaten up by inflation. It is the latest challenge to the Government's cost-of-living crisis strategy.

Not just benefits!! How about wages too
No benefits do not need to be raised …. Ffs 🤬
Is this the same Iain Duncan Smith who killed hundreds of people with cruel benefit cuts when he was Welfare Secretary ? Hypocrite
No, rather create incentives for those who work. Decrease benefits to those who are able to work and don't. Why must we increase the support of the lazy moochers.
Why, when those that work to pay the largesse which the Government then redistributes won’t get equivalent wage increases. The incentives to work and be self-reliant are already perverse. Arguably a good part of the reason we are in this mess. We need less Govt not more.
How about reinstalling the Triple Lock for Pensioners that Rishi robbed off us
Are pensioners to be classed as benefit claimants with this announcement?
How about they get a job when able to work!
