Back then, the discussions were confined to the classroom and centred on the significance of the 1973 United States Supreme Court ruling, which constitutionally protects a woman’s right to have an abortion through the first trimester.
For the longest time, until I started law school, it was the one case I knew everything about. As an idealistic young student, it seemed like a battle that had been fought and won by my mother’s generation and was safely locked away in the history vaults. It is impossible to read the decision and not come to the conclusion that Roe’s days are numbered. The leaked document isn’t a mere criticism of the legal reasoning behind the 1973 decision; it is a totally unfettered, deliberate, scathing attack on Roe. I appreciate that it is a draft decision, but unless SCOTUS does a complete 180 in its final decision, which is not likely, I don’t see this ending well for Roe.
It’s the exact opposite. It brings abortion to the state level where it belongs.
Not just a set back for women but a set back for all of society. Time we completely separated Church from State….in every way.
Murdering a fetal life doesn’t matter to evil women rights to kill a life with abortion pills . Thou shalt not kill a life with abortion pills . Now the federal laws allow women to kill a life . Thou shalt not kill .
Thou shalt not kill is the laws of enforcement & federal laws of enforcement to abort a life . Abortion is killing a life with abortion pills
Don’t worry, Kathryn. Women in Canada will still be able to kill their babies in the womb at any time for any or no reason, whatever happens to Roe. Sleep well.
Interestingly, statistically more pro-life people are female than male…just saying
It would be a huge setback for our species.
Perhaps it will return a grassroots focus to actual womens rights instead of the massive investment made by the current activists within the movement in trying to discredit the actual science of genetics.
A huge win for babies!!!
