There’s no job like it running an abortion clinic.

The Women's Health Center of West Virginia Executive Director Katie Quionez poses for a photo in Charleston, W.Va., on Feb 25, 2022. Even if Roe vs Wade decision legalizing abortion is overturned, she is determined that the clinic stay open and continue providing resources like birth control, emergency contraception and testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections. There are the clients -- so many of them desperate, in need, grateful.

But she knew the fear some women feel with an unwanted pregnancy. When she was in her early 20s, a good friend asked for her help getting an abortion. At the time, in the early ’80s, the procedure was legal but they didn’t know where to find someone in northwestern Louisiana who performed it. Ashamed to tell her mother, Quinonez worked at a pizzeria after school to save up for an abortion. Weeks passed; finally, Quinonez broke down and revealed her plight. Her mother was immediately supportive and helped her schedule an abortion appointment.

In fact, when he and his then-partner, a Huntsville doctor, decided to open the clinic, his partner told him that it was hazardous work. The partner felt a responsibility to meet Johnson’s parents first to address any concerns and questions they might have about their son’s new business.

Again, the Supreme Court ruling won't change anything immediately. It would then be up to Texas if we wanted to make changes.

Insane how this was supposed to be settled law.

How abortion clinics are preparing for possible fall of Roe v. WadeThe bombshell leak of a draft Supreme Court decision that could overturn Roe v. Wade was disheartening but not surprising to many abortion providers, who have been preparing for the possible end of legal abortion for years. Whole Woman's Health operates abortion clinics in Virginia, Maryland, Minnesota, Indiana and Texas. For Marva Sadler, the senior director of clinical services for the abortion provider, recent restrictions on abortion access in Texas offer a hint of what's to come if Roe is overturned this year. Thanks and congratulations. With good people like you, we'll leave the ignorant, theocratic rednecks in the dust where they belong. So trump says at his rally he’s pro abortion, just so he understands, that means thou shalt not kill, a human . Yet he wanted the military to shoot George Floyd protesters! Also humans!
