Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster told the trial of a woman charged with murdering two-year-old Santina Cawley that the child died from a traumatic brain injury

Karen Harrington, of Lakelands Crescent, Mahon in Cork, denies the charge at the Central Criminal Court.

She gave evidence of the findings of that post mortem examination at the trial of Karen Harrington today. She said Santina suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, which would have caused her to fall into a coma. She suffered several fractures, including a complex fracture of the skull, fractured ribs and fractures to her"long bones".
