In response, Vela declared the day of the next council meeting, May 5, to be “Y’all Means All Day.” In celebration of Texas’ richhistory, members of the local LGBTQ+ community in Austin gathered in solidarity. “#YallMeansAll Day is a celebration of the Austin LGBT community and everything they have contributed to the rich culture of Texas,” CM Vela tweeted ahead of the event.
