And even if you remove all that and examine the ostensible motivations for the convoy as Poilievre describes them, it is a fundamental rejection of public health measures by a man who also rejected the very idea of government-delivered financial supports. There is an adult conversation to be had about the merits and challenges of vaccine mandates: it’s likely a near-unsolvable policy problem in which a third-dose vaccine mandate would reduce the spread of COVID, but we won’t do it.
