Moving the question outside a legal framework, 7 in 10 say the decision whether or not a woman can have an abortion should be left to the woman and her doctor; this also is down from November, by 5 points. Twenty-four percent instead say abortion should be regulated by law. Even among those who say abortion should be illegal in all or most cases, a substantial share, 41%, also say it should be left to the woman and her doctor.
The public divides on another circumstance: When the woman cannot afford to have a child, 48% say abortion should be legal, 45% illegal. Support for legal abortion in this case is its highest in six polls dating back to 1996. Regarding state-level action, 36% say laws on access to abortion in their state should be left as they are now and 33% say access to abortion should be easier than it is now. Fewer, 25%, say abortion access should be harder than it is currently.
Now ask after about after 15-20 weeks and the numbers flip, cherry picking. Most Americans support significant restrictions on abortion.
Woke ABC. I watch zero from them.
Then let Schumer make abortion law in congress. Story will be over. He has control and Pelosi has the senate. Should take a week to get votes into law. Why asking Supreme Court to make law
If you ask about second trimester you get a majority no. The Mississippi law was 2 weeks into the second trimester and a week longer than many EU countries. Maybe this was a stupid case to challenge.
Disinformation Board needed here please. ABC may have a serious viral infection.
Roe v wade being reversed does not take away abortions, stop pushing this narrative. Abortions are not a constitutional right thats all its clearing up. The late great RBG knew it would be a matter of time.
50 years of precedent? Rather, 50 years, tens of millions dead and wounded. Doctors recently acknowledged emphasizing inaccurate tests, pressure aborting babies with Down Syndrome, abortion 'doctors' selling a fix, women thinking they have no option... Abortion is NOT pro-woman.
What Republicans want:
that's interesting but public opinion has very little to do with how laws are passed.
And the columns to the right still shock me. 12% would prefer the woman die? Wtf 😭
And yet it’s set to be overturned. Weak and ineffective dems. Sad.
If the court ends-up up holding Roe, the GOP will look like heroes.
there was an illegal breach at the Supreme Court should concern all citizens. This is no different than 1/6 trying to overturn election! Left celebrating leaker is shameful. Had any one during 1/6 stated “burn the house down “. They would be censored/prison! Hypocrisy
