Assemblyman Kevin Kiley's gas tax relief bill is garnering more and more support, even among Democrats. So what's the hold up?

ROCKLIN, CALIFORNIA – Support is mounting in Sacramento for a gas tax suspension bill with local leaders being the driving force behind the legislation that has now received bipartisan support.

Californians are now wondering what the hold up is and why they haven’t yet received confirmation of any relief at the pump. Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, representing California’s 6th District, joined KUSI’s Logan Byrnes on “Good Evening San Diego” to discuss developments with the legislation. The bill has garnered broad support among the people of California, as well as all members of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, Assemblyman Kiley said.

Kiley hopes that he can keep up the momentum and he will continue to push until gas price relief comes to Californians.

KevinKileyCA Better yet end the gas tax totally

KevinKileyCA The hold up - they need to do it as close to the election as possible to try and get more votes.

KevinKileyCA Please don’t give this political pandering any credibility. Most Californians spend way more money on healthcare, childcare, income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, and utilities compared to gas taxes. If Kevin really wanted to help Californians, he’d work on these.

KevinKileyCA Why don't you tell those gas companies like Chevron that give you campaign contributions to lower their prices instead we need to fix our rural infrastructure with the gas tax. This is grandstanding BS you politicians use 🙄. Stop fucking taking their donations if you cared.

And Cali-unicornia plans to raise gas taxes again in July! sacramentoiscorrupt

Maybe it’s a good way to discourage unneccessary car trips and could ease congestion.
