It emerged that the road user was five times over the legal limit for alcohol and they were then arrested.

The driver was spotted by gardai driving dangerously on the M7 near Naas in the past few days.READ MORE:Gardai rush to the scene after man, 30s, injured after being shot in DublinA garda spokesperson said: "Naas Roads Policing Unit arrested this driver on the M7 after they were seen driving dangerously and colliding with two different vehicles.

"They were stopped and it was found that they were five times over the legal limit. Proceedings to follow." Elsewhere, Dundalk Roads Policing Unit conducted a joint checkpoint with the RSA recently when they stopped a HGV. It was found that the driver had no license or insurance, no tachograph and the HGV was overweight with an unsecured load.In another operation this week, DMR West gardai stopped a car in Blanchardstown at a checkpoint and found the driver was committing a number of offences.

Among these were no valid insurance, no valid tax, no valid NCT, driving Unaccompanied on Learner Permit and no L-Plates displayed.
