BREAKING: Florida Gov. DeSantis signs into law a measure to ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, making the state the latest to tighten access to the procedure ahead of a Supreme Court decision that could limit abortion rights across the country.

"This will represent the most significant protections for life that have been enacted in this state in a generation," DeSantis said, signing the bill in athat featured speakers who had either received an abortion and regretted it or declined advice to get one and had children.

The new law goes into effect on July 1 and, barring a successful legal challenge, will significantly reduce access to late-term abortions for women across the Southeastern U.S., many of whom would travel to Florida because of stricter abortion laws in surrounding states.

Abortion restriction bill signed by Florida Gov. DeSantisJUST IN: Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a 15-week abortion ban into law as the state joined a growing conservative push to restrict abortion ahead of a U.S. Supreme Court decision that could limit access to the procedure nationwide. Yeah I wouldn't concern myself with anything Ron does. Even if it's law you can go to another country and get better service than any medical you can get here. Costs less too. Rrpublicans just keep taking rights away. I am currently pregnant and it was planned and my husband and are thrilled because WERE READY. We are stable and able to provide for this future kid. And goodness have I have been horribly sick and exhausted. I wouldn’t MAKE anyone do this, it HAS to be a choice.
