SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): A man who was initially fined S$3,500 for punching and kicking his pregnant girlfriend will now instead be jailed for two weeks, after the High Court on Thursday (April 7) allowed an appeal by the prosecution.

KUALA TERENGGANU: Two men who were shot dead by police in Kampung Simpang Tokku here last Tuesday have been identified as the suspects in a murder case and also members of a drug-trafficking syndicate that has been active in the state for the past 10 years.

“One of them had a record of eight drug-related offences while the other had a record of 11 such offences. They were known among drug addicts in the state, including in the Felda area,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama. ACP Mohd Marzukhi has been appointed as the Principal Assistant Director of the Training Divi-sion of the Management Depart-ment at Bukit Aman.

Following the shooting incident between the two suspects and the police last Tuesday, police found two .38 revolvers and several bullets in a car used by the suspects.
