The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday, ordered the Federal Government to enforce the National Gender Policy by allotting 35 per cent of appointments in the public sector to women.

The judge dismissed the preliminary objection of the Federal Government’s lawyer, Terhemba Agbe, who had argued that the plaintiff’s case did not disclose any cause of action. “I agree with their contention that this cannot be possible out of 70 million women in Nigeria,” Justice Okorowo said. “This court is not expected to achieve less for Nigerian women, since the constitutional obligation of this court is to apply the law,” the judge said.

Nigeria's GDP could grow by 23 per cent—or $229 billion—by 2025 if women took part in the economy to the same extent as men. Leaving women out of politics is basically operating on 50% resources when the nation has 100% available

Judgement subject to sentiments, gender and corruption. I pity Nigeria.

Its bigger than reservations... Have we trained our women to be ready to pick up offices and not men as income? Charity begins at home... else we will bore incompetency in place of allocation.

You mean the slappies and the slappers 🤷‍♀️
