Canadian police have not seen a spike in cannabis-impaired driving one month since legalization, but there needs to be more awareness of laws around storing marijuana in vehicles and passengers smoking weed, law enforcement officials say.

I know someone who works a drive thru. They smell pot in many cars. Sorta makes sense that food drive ups are the destination of people that have increased munchie desire.

Ha Ha Ha - mail strike Einstein - wait ‘till it comes home - plus , we all know fully well there’s no reliable nor enforceable way to detect - just a sham to try to re-assure the virtuous who don’t use !!

Potheads are smarter than drunks!

Why would there have been? Lmfao

Hahahahaha go cry losers

Shocking. saidnooneever

of course

holy shit can we not learn from already legalized states that this was OBVIOUSLY going to be the case!? in Colorado: lowest impaired driving indicidents on record, lowest violent crimes, etc etc etc. but hey lets keep spending money on more needless studies

It’s only been what 2 weeks? Wait until all the RIDE programs start for the holiday season. Then write your column.

I’m sure alcohol impaired driving is up though where’s that discussion? Or impaired driving on pain meds ?

Like no guff dude!!😙

YET

Wait till customer orders actually get filled

No shit, we're all home chilling.

Duh

Wow Canada the government n the police lied to us who ever thought Canada would face a drug problem with weed were the uneducated people I said it b4 pot smokers r more responsible then drinkers pot smokers know that it's still not ok to smoke pot on a tim hortons patio

Can’t change stats if everybody was driving high and still is 🤦‍♂️

Because the same people who smoked weed before are the same people who smoke weed now

Guess what! Nothing will change. Whoever already smoked will continue to smoke. All that's changing is that the government now became the dealer.

Spike? More and more will try to have clear vision smocking the weed. That's just the beginning, wait until gets full blown...

Simply because there’s no spike in supply. Legalization has, so far, changed nothing.

Shhhhhh.... theres a huge industry profiting off of that very notion

No kidding. Reefer madness. And the fact that the gov super underestimated how much people smoke suggests that all the risks may have been overestimated

Any reduction in the number?

Early data? So it's too early to say.

That’s because they don’t have the tools to catch it. Also there is little enforcement. Driving for over 25 years I have been stopped by ride 2 times. I have during those 25 years driven well over 1,000,000 kms. We need more enforcement maddcanada

They admittedly can't fill the orders either.. this is useless data until there is more saturation.

Was everyone really thinking that the country is full of pot heads?! Because there is no pot? The venders sold out? Looks like the cops are suffering from pot induced paranoia
