Suppression orders relating to Zachary Rolfe's murder trial have been lifted, including material which the judge says could potentially cause damage to the police officer's reputation.

The Northern Territory Supreme Court has lifted all suppression orders in relation to Zachary Rolfe's murder trial, including some material the judge says may potentially damage the police officer's reputation.Media outlets, including the ABC, applied for the lifting of all suppression orders relating to Constable Rolfe's case

Constable Rolfe was last week found not guilty of murder and two alternative charges over the fatal shooting of Kumanjayi Walker in Yuendumu in November 2019. He also said the allegations in the material had not been established as fact, and that if it were to be made public, his client may not be able to pursue defamation action. But Crown prosecutor Philip Strickland SC said the text messages — which the court is yet to provide to the media — could not be defamatory because Constable Rolfe wrote them himself.

"The bottom line is it's the imputation …. and how the prosecution unsuccessfully argued, or sought to argue, that there was some sinister connotation to what was said."But Judge John Burns, who presided over the trial, decided to lift the suppression orders.

No damage done he did his job. Build a bridge, get over it, move on

We must purge this our lands of these vile and venal anathemas! They walk amongst us and in open defiance to their inferior status and act as if lords of these our lands. ALWAYS WAS...ALWAYS WILL BE!!!!

Well Murdoch has been happily trashing his victim’s reputation

Unless we want to go down the American police sewer where ' Ah was Afraid for my life' as a get out of jail free card we need to pursue these cases. We really don't need this. 137 shots by police to 2 unarmed men

Very hard to see how his reputation could be damaged, further... Let the consequences flow

Justice served

Links to the SAS christian soldiers and BRS may also help an appeal against this decision.

More damage that is.

Need to build a statue of this bloke, patriot.

want to see me without a bra?
