Retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Joseph Mbu, has approached the National Industrial Court to seek certain reliefs against the Police Service Commission over his compulsory retirement.
Some of the documents as tendered in evidence by Mbu were copies of his age declaration, appointment letter into the Nigerian Police as a cadet officer dated December 11, 1985.The judge, Osatohanmwen Obaseki-Osaghae, at the end of the claimant’s submission, marked the documents as exhibit C1-C21.Mbu, in response, said, “I want this honourable court to grant all my prayers.”The court in addition, directed that hearing notice should be issued and served on the defendant.
In his statement of facts, he stated that he was born April 10, 1958, and joined the police on December 11, 1985, and had not reached the mandatory retirement age of 60, nor had he spent 35 years in service before he was retired in 2016.
He is now feeling the heat
The question is why was he retired ? Who retired him ...no matter how dirty he is nigerians deserve to know his crimes and have him tried normally not cover him up. And if this is power play the man or woman corrupted by power must pay for it
Good for him. His hands are dirty too. He should thank God that it's just retirement.
In his normal way, he ought to have deployed armed police thugs to the force headquarters to deal with the IG of police. Now he knows better that power is transient. And the only permanent factor in life is change
