Everyone knows kryptonite is Superman's biggest weakness, but the Justice League often reminds those less familiar with DC Comics of the Man of Steel's various other weaknesses. Clark is susceptible to red solar radiation, audio frequencies harmful to his sensitive Kryptonian hearing, and of course, magic. Some loyal Superman fans tend to defend the character from magic, stating it isn't a weakness, but rather it just harms him the same way it would anyone else.
In Justice League #73, the newest member of the League, Naomi McDuffie , sits at the table with the rest of the team. She first met Superman in Bendis and Kudranski's Action Comics #1015 when she crashed in front of the Daily Planet building. Clark took the young hero to the Hall of Justice afterward, where Batman and Atom analyzed her multidimensional origins.
Several examples show Superman can power through this weakness quite well, making the argument of magic"not being a weakness" understandable. It evidently doesn't harm him as much as kryptonite. For instance, Superman fights Black Adam from time to time, and he usually wins. In fact, just a few panels after Naomi discovers Superman's magic weakness in Justice League #73, Green Arrow mentions that Superman is indeed stronger than Black Adam.
Superman's resistance to Black Adam's attacks is likely why so many fans speculate magic isn't necessarily a Kryptonian weakness. However, magic is not science; there's a different line of thinking with mysticism. Magic follows the natural and supernatural order of things, which could actually be behind the Justice League prevailing over their enemies.
“Green Arrow mentions that Superman is indeed stronger than Black Adam.” Nope. It’s already been brought out multiple times that Superman and Captain Marvel are actually equal in strength which would of course include Black Adam. Gotta call writer error here.
