Ohio State drops a second straight Big Ten game to a team with a losing record and falls to Nebraska at home.

In a game that will go down as the nadir of the regular season during the Chris Holtmann era to this point, No. 23 Ohio State was soundly beaten on its home court, 78-70, by Big Ten cellar-dweller Nebraska. The Cornhuskers had lost 24 straight games to ranked teams.

Making matters worse, graduate senior forward and team captain Kyle Young left the game after being called for a blocking foul with 11:59 to play and did not return. When the Buckeyes came out for the second half, he was not on the bench, further thinning a frontcourt already without Zed Key who was unavailable due to a right ankle injury suffered Sunday.

He missed a first-hand view of the lowest-rated team to win at Value City Arena according to KenPom.com since No. 271 Florida Atlantic won 79-77 on Dec. 6, 2017. The Cornhuskers entered the night ranked No. 155.
