Virginia's new Republican attorney general on Friday withdrew his state from a legal effort to have the Equal Rights Amendment recognized as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution

Virginia's new Republican attorney general on Friday withdrew his state from a legal effort to have the Equal Rights Amendment recognized as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution.

The move by Attorney General Jason Miyares marks a significant shift in the commonwealth's stance and is a setback to supporters of the ERA. Virginia had ratified the ERA in 2020 under Democratic leadership and is seen by supporters as the final necessary state that put the ERA into effect -- despite legal questions.

Virginia is a MESS!! How did suckered voters EVER elect a Republican governor who could give a crap about THEIR rights in a democracy

He sees those women as a life support system for a vagina, to give birth to the next white male republican.

Isn't Women's Studies is kind of like CriticalRaceTheory ? I bet GOP bans Women's Studies soon enough, so nobody feels uncomfortable.

ZaleskiLuke CrazedRepublicansTheory taught daily in Virginia. Thoughts and prayers to suburban white women afraid their precious, Barrett Bowser Burnham IV would learn actual history.

If Democrats are apathetic and stay home in November while the Trump GOP base is fired up over bs like CRT, we’ll all be VA, or worse.

Thanks, Virginia, for voting these fools into office.

This is appalling.

So?

Sorry there is no mechanism legal or constitutional to retract a ratification of a constitutional amendment after it's done.

Coming from the party that had no issue with some people being 3/5th and of course no women voters!

Testing for the space program way back in the 50's for the Moon mission. Netflix Special. Women ARE SICK OF THIS SHIT. and so is everyone else discriminated against under these out dated, ideals. Every side of every boarder. We are done under this rule.

Acosta I’m assuming this is the same person who is having to return illegitimate campaign contributions?

Next year when the Virginia house of delegates is up again democrats will retake it because of shit like this at least that will prevent the governor from signing dumb shit untill Virginia puts a democrat back in his spot

Well good. It’s a redundant amendment.

Congratulations Virginia! Ya'll have fun now, ya hear!

Is this REALLY what they voted for?

Gross

Great job my fellow Virginians. 🤦🏽

This is all Terry's fault

SHOCKED!!! 🙄🙄🙄

And Republican women are cool with it. Just boggles the mind.

I hate republicans.

Don’t forget the at least 12 states that didn’t/haven’t ratified ever over last 50 years or so.

people reacting based on the name with no idea what is in it

When a man is not as good as a woman, some choose to lash out.

See this ladies... This is why we don't vote for Republicans. Your daughters/grand daughters may need to have rights even if you don't care about yours.

believe.........believe...........believe.....in CNN........LOL........LOL....LOL

GDP, why should the US, Canada and the Mexican government jointly devise measures? Armen, Mil Máscaras

I think this is one of the reasons why the outflow from Mexico to the United States has not stopped, but the United States and Canada are the largest customers of drugs in the Mexican cartel. Given the reality that drug revenues are pushing up Mexico's
