nurses and midwives will walk off the job tomorrow despite an order to abandon a planned strike over pay and conditions.

"Whilst local health districts have plans in place to minimise potential disruptions and delays, to ensure all those in need of emergency and urgent care continue to receive it as quickly as possible." Mr Holmes earlier told 2GB's Ben Fordham skeleton staff would remain on-site to provide life-preserving care.

Nurses and midwives are asking for a pay rise above the 2.5 per cent offered by the NSW Government, and also to be compensated for the pay freeze for government workers implemented in 2020.
