Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, 15, allowed to compete at Winter Olympics after hearing over failed drugs test

Cas, which is sport's highest court, said "serious issues of untimely notification of the results" of the failed test - which came during the Games and nearly six weeks after she gave the sample - had also played a part in its decision. The International Olympic Committee , Wada and International Skating Union launched an appeal against Rusada's decision to lift the provisional suspension, which is what Cas has now turned down.

There will also be wider debates given a Russian has tested positive for a banned substance when the country is already banned from international competition because of its doping past. The near six-hour long Cas hearing concluded at 02:10 local time in Beijing, with the three-person panel continuing deliberations into Monday morning.

The winter Olympics what a three ring circus that is. Held in a country accused of human rights abuse and murder. Now we have fake drug results alongside fake snow. I resent its broadcast, it's an insult to the free world. The medals are a hollow win.

Don’t jump to conclusions, ask for details. Maybe she had an espresso before her test, just saying

WTH So, if a person can't be sanctioned because they are too young, why are they able to compete? Surely competing means obeying the rules & risking sanctions if they do not. Also, why must the medal ceremony of people who have no question over them be affected by her situation?

Time for for all nations to pull their athletes out of the corrupt Olympics. Why spend money on supporting an event that can not enforce its own rules on drug taking and ban drug takers/nations. It is unfair to clean athletes and it’s unfair to the supporters/ viewers.

Russia & China are renowned for cheating in the past. Just ban them!

Break the rules and carry on

Drug cheats continue to prosper at the Olympics.

WTF

So Sha'Carri Richardson suspended for marijuana but this skater allowed to compete after testing positive for trimetazidine which can “increase stamina and endurance..increasing oxygen-carrying capacity.”

Precedent set for future Olympics. Take any drugs, recreational or performance enhancing. Win medal. Get positive test. Continue to participate. Cheating wins.

Appalling! What message does this send to Putin and all those who are happy to take drugs to help them cheat in sport?

Been at it for years

They still going to bomb Ukraine 🇺🇦
