Now, states have passed laws and food chains have joined the calls.

Since approximately 2015, McDonald's, Burger King and other chains and manufacturers have announced they will only use cage-free eggs, AP notes.

I really like that. Ethical treatment of animals is needed.

Aren’t cage free chickens still jam packed into chicken houses? Free rang is what you want, right?

However, that is to the retail consumer. Most eggs are probably used by food manufacturers and franchise restaurants. I bet they still use “cage” eggs because of cost
