The National Archives and Records Administration has asked the Justice Department to investigate former President Trump's handling of White House records, CBS News has learned.
A referral does not necessarily mean that there will be an investigation, a source familiar with internal deliberations said. The source said referrals like these are standard procedure when there are possible criminal violations. The handling of White House documents during the Trump administration has come under scrutiny recently after theThe Justice Department is not commenting on the matter, nor is the National Archives.
"Following collaborative and respectful discussions, the National Archives and Records Administration arranged for the transport of boxes that contained Presidential Records in compliance with the Presidential Records Act," the former president said."Much of this material will someday be displayed in the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library for the public to view my administration's incredible accomplishments for the American people.
Kellymag26 It's a MUST. As is a raid on MAGA-logo.
Trump and Fox news complained about Hillary's emails.
Trump literally ate the documents. Anyone doubt he ate paste and sniffed glue as a child?
Nothing will happen
Why has it taken so long for them to ask? Shouldn't the N A know what was missing? Just like IRS how come they've gotten away w/hiding Trump's taxes for so long?... and how come they hid that he paid $750.00? He lied on his tax forms but he was well known enough tht they knew. 😡
I hope they figure out whether or not he used dressing on the document he ate.
Handling, why not stealing?
But her emails.
Handling the Handling he shouldn't have ever handled.
