Political firebrand Clive Palmer has borrowed a verbal barb made famous by former Labor PM Paul Keating as the billionaire businessman bid to have criminal charges against him put on hold.
He launched a case in the Brisbane Supreme Court in June 2021 with the aim of stopping the ASIC charges proceeding in the Brisbane Magistrates Court. Mr Palmer alleged the ASIC charges and resulting Magistrates Court proceeding were “an abuse of process” and “would tend to bring the administration of justice into disrepute”.
