A Shari’a Court sitting in Kano, on Friday, sentenced a 45-year-old man, Ado Muhammad, to three years in a correctional centre for defrauding the complainant, Nura Iliyasu, the sum of N1.3 million.
The judge, Malam Isah Rabiu-Gaya, who convicted Muhammad, however, gave him an option of N30,000 fine and further ordered the defendant to pay the complainant N1.3mn.. Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Aliyu Abideen, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on September.14, 2021 at Kunya town, Kano.
