Justice Stephen Breyer's retirement clears the way for Pres. Biden to follow through on his campaign promise to nominate the first Black woman to the high court for his historic first pick.

, beginning in the United States Army as a teenager before going on to serve in all three branches of government before he turned 40. Multiple times, Biden noted his personal connection to Breyer, as the only president to have presided over a justice's confirmation -- when he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Breyer was nominated to the Supreme Court in 1994 by President Bill Clinton.

"While I've been studying candidates' backgrounds and writings, I've made no decision except one: the person I will nominate will be someone with extraordinary qualifications, character, experience and integrity. And that person will be the first Black woman ever nominated to the United States Supreme Court. It's long overdue in my opinion, I made that commitment during the campaign for president, and I will keep that commitment," he said.

"In the end, I will nominate a historic candidate, someone who's worthy of Justice Breyer's legacy, and someone who like Justice Breyer, provide incredible service on the United States Supreme Court," Biden said.President Joe Biden delivers remarks with Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer as they announce Breyer will retire at the end of the court's current term, at the White House in Washington, D.C., Jan. 27, 2022.

Most qualified is the only choice but the Biden regime will turn this into a race and gender issue as usual

Qualifications is no longer needed to be elected as a supreme court judge, race is the main reason if so we already have white, black, and hispanic. We don't have Asian and Native of America maybe the president should pick one of these two races.

Lets just ignore the 1964 civil rights act violation.

Almost all of them have white handler husband's. No coincidence. Look it up

Politics of color, Religion, caste. Biden term will finish compensating for getting the president chair. How can US sustain the top leader position in the world with internal weakness.
