Hillsong founder Brian Houston will step down from church leadership as he defends against a criminal charge.

Last year in October the 67-year-old was charged with one count of “conceal serious indictable offence of another person”.

While the Hillsong Pastor has denied the charge, he revealed in a statement on Sunday that external legal counsel thought it would be best for him to step down.“In December, during our board meeting, Hillsong’s external legal counsel gave the board advice regarding the current charge I am facing – that it would be ‘Best Practice’ for me to step aside completely from church leadership during the court proceedings,” he said.

After being charged in October the Hillsong Pastor stepped aside as the board chairman for the church.

What like a guilty man....luckily he has no influence on power...checks notes oh nearly a majority of Cabinet are pentecostalists yet they are under 1% of all Christians and best friend with The Forklift...I guess no more kids will be harmed at least
