[ICYMI] Zimbabwe border | 89,000 border jumpers arrested, deported

And now this has resulted in thousands of Zimbabweans flocking into neighbouring South Africa and Botswana in search of jobs and better lives. More than 89,000 illegal immigrants have already been arrested or deported. eNCA’s Zimbabwe correspondent Pindai Dube reports.#DStv403

JOHANNESBURG - Our warnings to South Africa about Zimbabwe’s economic and political crisis were ignored. And now this has resulted in thousands of Zimbabweans flocking into neighbouring South Africa and Botswana in search of jobs and better lives.“We have been talking about these issues as labour, as human rights activists that SADC and AU have to take a progressive and practical position on Zimbabwe crisis, we have got a crisis.

Political analysts say illegal immigrants flocking into South Africa is confirmation that the Emmerson Mnangagwa government has failed. "That’s a symptomatic of the failure to govern ZanuPF government in Zimbabwe, it has been failing to provide Zimbabweans with jobs. Jobs are basic needs of Zimbabweans, so that they can earn their legitimate lives. There no jobs in Zimbabwe this is why you are witnessing colonies of Zimbabweans crossing the Limpopo,” said political analyst, Wurayayi Zembe.

The Zimbabwe government has remained mum over this latest mass exodus of citizens seeking to survive elsewhere.

Mxm 85000 of them are back in SA now probably,no harsh punishment for those jumping the borders and coming SA without proper documentation loke really SAPoliceService and Bheki Cele are not serious.

Do you real know what 89 000 is like? Even uneducated people will tell you, dont take readers for a ride

Taking care of my debts and giving my family the best financially is what I have long waited for, TarellaCampbel thank you for helping me gain financial success.

Nonsense this was what was reported yesterday, i cant buy it, its fake news no one have a space to arrest 89000 thats fake news anyway

Staggering numbers.

These Fugitives shouldn't be illegally entering our country without any of our knowledge, it's against the law and they should be sentenced to jail.

This is too much risking their lives trying to cross the river .God have mercy on Zimbabwe Government .

Zimbabwe I think must be made one of our province once and for all, time is now to invade Zimbabwean territory.

Not a single word about this issue from Cyril Ramaphosa.

We must call the police everytime we see Zimbabweans. They must be sent back home and if they come back again then hand them over to the people, the people want to talk to them.

Life is too short! South African men please marry this beautiful hard working Zimbabwean and Mozambican women. We all awaiting death, so why would you hate another African. No more a supporter of PutSouthAfricaFirst Malema has change the tunes bcz of votes for 2024

Taking such a risk shows determination. Something we lack as South African

We must applaud our law enforcement agents for their efforts. We appreciate you Minister Motsoaledi.

Refresh the page, they back tomorrow..

All fleeing from a country where the 'land' has been given back to the people as per the definition of communist leaders that many blacks worship.

Re kgopela body count re lapile ke lena media telling us wat we want to hear, proof please.

Bliksem crocodiles must never fail SA...Pta Zoo must donate few crocodiles in that river.

A cry for South African

👊 Leya shoma bo shomi shomang le tswelepele ka moshomo o mo botse HomeAffairsSA SANDF_ZA

Does Mr Malema know about this Zimbabwe situation. This emanated from the Zimbabwean policy of Land Expropriation without Compensation. He must tell South Africans how his approach will avoid a crisis such as the one currently in Zim.

Its not true what I hear now 89 whaaat? Yho thank you Mr Pres for you co-opperation In all this long way, of being a leady of the country, you did a great job to stand up for South Africans. Thank you so much,😭😭😭💔💔

edmnangagwa do something to revive your economy. This is a crisis that's been going on for too long under ZANUPF_Official

If only they cn use their jumping skills to win the Olympics 🙄

Kanti the fence isn't there yin?

But south africa has crisis too mos check unemployment rate .

Even crocodiles now understands the sufferings that our fellow brothers and goes through. No one can risks his/her lives for fun. But again its not only Zims that cross borders

We should build a wall like Donald Trump did. A whole wooping 89 000 Zimbabweans nabo gogo nomkhulu babo😣. Where do these people get buried?

Let's hope they get the care they need before whatever else befalls them.

They must just tell us how much is the whole Zimbabwe re e reke klaar.

Ain't the crocodiles in that'river mara 😭 aowa 89 taosand

😳 Seriously. They expect South Africa to employ Zimbabweans when South Africa has such a massive rate of unemployment ! You don’t invite your neighbours for dinner when your own children are starving.

80 what 😳😳

A few days back it was also exactly 89000. You sure this isn't old news?

Running away from owning land and coming to the landless black South Africans 😂😂😂

The whole Zim is here nxa

All because of poverty created by poor leadership. President Mnangagwa and his cabinet must pull up their socks or give others who can a chance.

😳 that's a high number. And Mnangagwa has no problem with this? Shameful.

Add more Crocs in the river

Keep the good work let them go Home

Bogo_Molelekoa they could swim

Its gud they are deported but Motsoaledi need to also deport those who are already in the country, including pakistans, Nigerians, Chinese etc Zimbabweans and Nigerians think they are entitled to our country.

The DIRCO_ZA & HomeAffairsSA must immediately implement visa requirements on the following countries: 1 Somalia 2 Ethiopia 3 Zimbabwe 4 Mozambique 5 Nigeria 6 Malawi 7 Congo 8 Ghana 9 Build wall between Zim & RSA!!! PutSouthAficansFirst eNCA

Who let the crocs out?

What about the other 2 million illegal Zimbos that is already here

A few problems with headline: - No attributions to where figure is from. - Doesn't stipulate time frame on when these deportations and jumpings happened. Now this figure will be the xenophobic cannon fodder that fake news in SA thrives on. AfricaCheck is there a way to verify?

Lies lies lies! This is a lie.

The very stupid part is, the focus is on poor people. Nigerians live large bagging too mch money by selling drugs. everyone talks of being employed .noone says pakistan shld go so that i can be a business owner. Really amazing

Hectic

South African borders should be alert because these foreign nationals can risk their lives crossing rivers with crocodiles just to enter South Africa

Never give up Zim zim

Kunento engingayiboni kahle lapha, kuvinjwa abantu abangenayo. Akuqalwa ngani ngokukhipha laba abangaphakathi uma kungadlalwa. Kudlalwa ngathi lapha ingathi abantu ba busy kanti bazenzela ama overtime 😂😂😂😂😂 imfeketho lena.

That’s nogal a lot.....like a lot....
