Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corp fired two surface-to-air missiles at Flight PS752, killing all 176 people onboard, on Jan, 8, 2020.
The decision was issued publicly today after Justice Edward Belobaba of Ontario's Superior Court of Justice ruled in May that the destruction of the commercial plane shortly after takeoff in TehranIran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shot down the plane on Jan. 8, 2020, killing all 176 people onboard, including 55 Canadians and 35 permanent residents.
In a decision dated Dec. 31, Belobaba awarded $100 million in punitive damages to be shared by the estates of the six victims. The decision awarded another $1 million to family members for the loss of guidance, care and companionship, and $6 million for pain and suffering.
If it's OK for Canada to seize Iranian assets, it must be OK for Iran to seize Canadian assets, anyone thought of this? Meanwhile it will be Canadian tax payers who will pay this 107 mil, I say take it out of Trudeau's wealth since he wouldn't stfu about this.

I hope they intended to seize assets to pay for the process as well so that taxpayers are not left on the hook for that! My optism level is low on getting anything from such a country and the people who run it.
I did read the report and it means nothing. The award is great for the lawyers at their contingency fees. But Iran is a sovereign nation. Protected by international treaties and law. A win on paper only.
