The Delta State Child's Rights Implementation Committee has decried the delay in prosecuting serial rape of minor cases in the state.

“Another challenge we are having was the parents of the victim; Treasure Diden vs Genesis Francis is a case of defilement of a three-year-old girl by an 11-year-old boy.

“The said case started in August 2019, after much back and forth, the committee got the fiat of the Attorney General to try the matter. Currently, the case is ongoing at the family court at Ugheli. “So far, the committee has prosecuted a police officer’s wife, Mrs Precious Joseph, who was jailed two years without an option of fine for violently abusing a nine-year-old house-help.”All rights reserved.
