The acting Chief Judge of Gombe State, Justice Mua’zu Pindiga, has said no fewer than 14,714 cases were filed in the preceding legal year — 10,271 heard and determined, with 3,028 cases pending.
Pindiga, who is performing one of his last official functions before his January 1st retirement, revealed that the bulk of the cases was heard at the lower courts, which he said is closest to the ‘common man’. “10,271 cases were heard and determined, leaving 3,028 pending and carried to this year. The bulk of these cases was heard in the Magistrate and Area Court being the courts closest to the common man.
