California’s emergency zero-dollar bail order does not force officials to turn criminals loose on the public.

The other big bogeyman, zero-dollar bail, was adopted by courts as an emergency measure in the early weeks of the pandemic so that jails — already COVID-19 danger zones — wouldn’t fill up with accused people, vulnerable to infection, who were merely waiting for bail hearings or trial.

opinion This is a BS smoke screen with phony stats. Crime is high because criminals are not held accountable. They want to gas light you into thinking that it is the fault of tough on crime laws that is causing it.

opinion Other states have higher threshold, but repeat burglaries can be charged as felony. With prop 47 they can't. Studies on bail only apply to first time offenders. Recent evidence has debunked that zero bail doesn't endanger us, with many LA cities & mayor calling for it to end
