High Court rules vernacular schools are constitutional

The High Court in Kuala Lumpur today ruled that the existence and establishment of vernacular schools and the use of Chinese and Tamil languages in schools are constitutional.

Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali ruled that vernacular schools are not a public authority and the use of a non-Malay medium of instruction for teaching in Chinese and Tamil vernacular schools is not for an official purpose and thus, did not infringe Article 152 of the Federal Constitution...

Is setting quota system constitutional?

Does vernacular schools not accepting other race to study? Does vernacular put Bahasa Malayu as optional sudject? Does the study contents different from MOE approved one? Does it set quota for study enrollment based on race? If so, that is racist.

The true loss is the failure of the national schools. Politics has kill a decent and competitive basic education for main stream malaysian. Rotten at its core. Parents are forced to go elsewhere. We started with a good system. The politicians successfully killed that too.
