China wants to remind everyone of their international space law obligations.

Chinese astronauts Nie Haisheng and Liu Boming waving their hands during a spacewalk out of the space station core module Tianhe in August of 2021filed a complaint this month with the United Nations

, arguing that it had to conduct evasive maneuvers of its space station to avoid potential collisions with two of SpaceX’s internet-beaming Starlink satellites. The country is requesting that the UN’s Secretary General remind countries of their obligations under international space law, though China did not specify exactly what actions it wants to be taken.

Starlink is SpaceX’s ambitious internet-from-space initiative, which calls for launching nearly 12,000 satellites into low Earth orbit in order to beam broadband internet coverage to the ground below. So far, the company has launched more than 1,900 Starlink satellites, with nearly 1,800 still in orbit,

Hey China, the US has been adjusting our satellites and space station periodically for years to avoid Chinese space junk. Get a clue.

Everyone has to make adjustments for avoiding things. Why is China being such a crybaby about it?

Yeah, can't think why China are wetting their pants about a satellite based internet service.

They are so petty.

Get your space station out of my Starlink orbit it's more important then your late to the game station

China does even respect their own borders on Earth, why should we respect theirs in space

Poor China. I LOVE how they just ignore the ASAT test they did which STILL has crap stuck in orbit. The complaint is also bullshit. Anyone that has a basic understanding of Starlink knows that what China is whining about isn't true. PROPAGANDA. Nothing more.

What about the times ISS had to maneuvre away from the debris created by Chinas ASAT test?

Meh, China.

And hopefully the UN gives the middle finger to China, China doesn't follow rules so suck it up and get over it. The amount of China made space junk everyone else has to avoid is because they don't follow laws.

I don’t think it was star link satellites. I think it was a bat

China is the worst

Let me get this straight... China is complaining about a country being irresponsible?

I actually don't think they should be complaining about moving their own satellites! I am no space expert but should consider thinking more strongly before saying something like that in terms of what they said 🤗

A fascist system think fascism even when it comes to international relations. Now we have to let way for them, they were there first! For thousands of years!
