Barrister Christelle McCracken has turned her passion for vintage into a successful side hustle.

Growing demand for collectable pieces that “no one else has” is also behind Christelle’s growing customer base. “People today want to buy something that is rare and exclusive,” she explains. “Anyone can buy current season designer if they have the money – all they need to do is go into the store or order online and buy an item that will no doubt have been bought by thousands of other people. So everyone in their social circle is wearing the same thing.

McCracken points out that Puglisi is far from the only designer reviving retro prints: Vivienne Westwood’s famed Boucher print – a reworking of François Boucher’s paintingmade a comeback for autumn/winter 2021, and Donatella Versace invited Jennifer Lopez, who famously inspired the dawn of Google Images with her Versace jungle dress back in 2000, to walk in a reimagined version for spring/summer 2020.Christelle’s “current obsession” comes courtesy of Versace.
