BREAKING: A court in military-ruled Myanmar has postponed its verdicts until Jan. 10 on two charges against ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi in which she is accused of importing and possessing walkie-talkies without following official procedures.

The case in the court in the capital, Naypyitaw, is among many brought against the 76-year-old Nobel Peace Prize laureate since the army seized power on Feb. 1, ousting her elected government and arresting top members of her National League for Democracy party.

Suu Kyi was convicted on Dec. 6 on two other charges — incitement and breaching COVID-19 restrictions — and sentenced to four years’ imprisonment. Hours after the sentence was issued, the head of the military-installed government, Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing, reduced it by half. She is being held by the military at an unknown location and state television reported that she would serve her sentence there.

The radios were seized from the gate of her residence and the barracks of her bodyguards during a search on Feb. 1, the day she was arrested. The offense falls under the Natural Disaster Management Law and the maximum penalty is three years in prison and a fine.

Keep in mind this military backed coup was funded and instigated by China.

She just can't catch a break, can she?

That seems like a bullshit charge

For walkie talkies.. what kind of backward-ass BS is that

It is a pity that this Nobel Peace Prize laureate has to somehow pay for the expulsion of an entire Rohingya people from the country. Awwwww

Is the Myanmar military really THAT incompetent. I mean, they sacked their own duly elected leader because she … didn’t trust her military’s walkie-talkies!? 🤦🏻‍♂️

'The United States and its allies have dropped at least 326,000 bombs and missiles on countries in the greater Middle East/ North Africa region since 2001. (46 Bombs Per Day for 20 Years)'USA Africa China UK Russia Xinjiang HongKong Taiwan Canada

A court in military rule is nothing but a bull shit.

It’s been my conviction over the years that small and impoverished nations like Myanmar don’t need a national army. Soldiers in such countries do not reason. They are the most unreasonable human beings that traverse the earth. Can any functional human being sue for such ridicule

Never forget, this is the type regime that Flynn and other Trumpists want in America

Why are you reporting on this illegitimate state?

Now this is an actual coup if anyone cares.

walkie talkies? i want on the next plane of existence out of here. all of the governments are garbage.

What a scandal
