Do your diligence. We used a builder who won awards in Saint John, he went bankrupt. Red Flag No 2 was that he made it clear that he was a good churchgoer. He was a crook.

so what? that's why they have building inspectors . just have easy legal recourse which doesn't exist for those who defraud or misrepresent their skills. As of now anyone even a professional can rip you off and they use the fact they are professional to rip you off even more
