The Minnesota police officer on trial in the shooting death of Daunte Wright was expected to take the stand, hoping to persuade jurors to acquit her of manslaughter charges in what she has said was a gun-Taser mixup.

to stop Wright from driving away and possibly dragging one of Potter’s fellow officers.

Under questioning from Potter attorney Earl Gray, Gannon testified that he viewed body-camera video immediately after the shooting and dashcam video recently, and when he had “all the data in front of me, I saw no violation.”Prosecutor Matthew Frank jabbed at Gannon on cross-examination, asking him whether it was consistent with policy “for an officer to not know they have their firearm in their hand when they shoot it.

Gannon said Potter was known for handling calls, acting professionally and writing good police reports. He testified that she volunteered with a group that helped families when officers were killed in the line of duty. She also worked with domestic abuse victims and was a field training officer. After Potter shot Wright, his car took off and crashed seconds later into an oncoming vehicle, hurting his passenger and someone in the other car.

Disgusting the shameless whitewashing of each person ending up dead, from George Floyd (in terrible health) to this young man wanted on a weapons warrant refusing to comply 'resisting' then in the act of fleeing shot by mistake.

Oh, I'm sorry I took your leg off, it was a bone-saw cotton wad mixup

A gun-Taser mix-up would only be credible if the officer had carried both lethal and less-lethal on the same side. Also, any officer who does *not* know which weapon they go for in a stressful situation should betaken off the street immediately. In short: BS.

don’t tase or shoot me by accident, broad

Oops... but she still killed him.

The sophistication of the human form just doesn't work that way; sorry. Too many calculations going on in the 'human perfection' for it to wrongly process over 6 seconds; the touch, feel, weight and colour of a taser confusing years of touching a 2-lb metal handgun, impossible.☝️

look! if a police officer cannot distinguish between the gun and taser no matter the circumstance then she shouldn't be one and should cope the consequences like rest of us, no? 😒

Well there has been testimony that lethal force was justified. So the whole taser thing becomes a moot point.

How is this case even going to trail, she was charged with manslaughter. Take your time and move aside

Well, isn't that a bit similar to what AlecBaldwln____ did?

The most shocking thing on the video is that she seemed not at all concerned about the condition of the young man that she had just shot point blank. She did however seem extremely concerned for herself and what the repercussions would be for having shot him.

no excuses a Black man is dead..

she has said was

It’s racism! She straight up murdered him. She should get life in prison, period! Fact is had Daunte been white she wouldn’t have ever reached for anything! No mistake No excuse!

How long do you gotta black out for to not instantly realize youre not holding your tazer. They dont even feel anything alike. Most tasers are smaller than a pistol and are much shorter. Like this was far more than a simple mistake.

Toss that ham in the frying pan

If I were a police officer, & I mistook my lethal weapon, for my less than lethal weapon, & I was charged with killing that person, I would plead guilty. I would believe that I'm not cut out for such a serious job, and humbly & remorsefully face the consequences of my decision.

The felon cost his own life by fighting and trying to flee. She should be acquitted.

There are some mistakes that we just can't allow. A doctor can't plead that they made an honest mistake when they amputate the wrong arm and police officers shouldn't be allowed to mix up their taser with their gun.

Don't taze me, bro.

The court system has failed to acknowledge recent research regarding inherent bias and false memory syndrome

The left is only going after her because she is a strong, independent woman that, and here is the part the left hates, THINKS FOR HER SELF! The left can't control that so they want to punish it.

She went to take the stand but fell down some stairs and ordered a beer.

She belongs in jail. I believe it qas a mistake and one that should be punished. This is the only life we are guaranteed to have and taking that from someone shouldnt be taken lightly.

How many minutes did she black out for?

🐶🧠
