An Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed the appeal of the suspended National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party , Uche Secondus seeking to stop the party from conducting its national convention this year. The unanimous judgement was read by Justice Gabriel Kolawale.
On August 23, 2021, some members of the party reportedly instituted a suit marked PHC/2183/CS/2021 at the High Court of Rivers State, Port Harcourt Judicial Division, with Secondus and the PDP as defendants. Subsequently, the court delivered its judgment and restrained Secondus from performing the functions of the National Chairman of the PDP.
The suspended chairman then filed an appeal before the Court of Appeal seeking an order of injunction restraining the PDP, its officers and representatives from holding or conducting the national convention scheduled for October 30 and 31, 2021, or any other date pending the hearing and final determination of the appeal.
The court had earlier fixed Thursday, 28th of October, to hear and rule on the motion for Interim order of injunction brought by Secondus against the PDP and others.
UcheSecondus It was very obvious that he would loss. Even though the way and manner he was chased out of office was condemnable.
UcheSecondus He has lost his relevance
UcheSecondus The summary of this judgment.... Subsequent PDP chairmen should get ready to be removed with impunity by the govs bcuz dey will remove you & nothing will happen even if you go to court.
