The climate campaginers have since been pushed to the hard shoulder near Brentwood in Essex by police.protest in recent weeks the group claimed it caused ‘major disruption’ when 14 members ‘walked on the white lines between the lanes of oncoming traffic’.
Essex Police said: ‘We are on scene of disruption on the M25. We received a call at 8am that a number of people were blocking the road between Junction 28 and 29. ‘Officers are already on scene and the southbound track has been reopened. Anybody else would have been arrested
Walking in front of cars at a crossing is stupid enough, walking onto a fast moving motorway is suicidal. I think the younger members of the group want a martyr, who better than a little old lady who looks as if she doesn't even know were she is. The elderly are being used.
They need to be checked to make sure they are not in breach of benefits rule if they are claiming any. I would hate to think our taxes are funding this.
