TOKYO—Princess Mako on Tuesday registered her marriage to college sweetheart Kei Komuro, a recent graduate of Fordham University’s law school in New York, giving up her royal status under Japanese law.
There was no pomp or wedding ceremony on the day the princess, 30 years old, left her palace for good. A palace official delivered papers to a government office registering the marriage with Mr. Komuro, also 30, which was all that was needed to make it official.

keithbaldrey Japan treats women terribly. They should be ashamed.
她真的非常不喜欢王室呢,即使知道对方是渣男,也要以结婚的方式来脱离。
we shall wait and see
Someday we’ll stop this royal and commoner nonsense…
Expensive love affair, shows sweet emotions of the heart supersedes any other trill that life brings. when you lover is all you desire life seems complete. Hope he will appreciate her for as long as they live as she has given her all to love him. Congratulations Princess Mako.
Great!
He must be a fantastic, sensitive lover.
Let me fix your message: Japan's Princess Mako registered her marriage to her college sweetheart Kei Komuro, and in doing so, giving up her royal status in accordance with the country's law
then i shall think of her as a princess and royalty of japan for her remaining days. some times in life, the courage of a person is more lasting than any title.
