The Justice Department formally asked the Supreme Court Monday to step in and block a controversial Texas law that bars most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy while legal challenges play out.

The law is"clearly unconstitutional" and allowing it to remain in effect would"perpetuate the ongoing irreparable injury to thousands of Texas women who are being denied their constitutional rights," the Justice Department argues. The emergency application places the justices back in the center of a firestorm created by the law that bars abortions before most women even know they are pregnant.

The DOJ says it does, in part, because private individuals bringing suit are acting as agents of the state and the government has the power to protect the fundamental rights of its citizens. But Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, says the federal government doesn't have the right to step in.

Biden team asks Supreme Court to pause Texas abortion lawWASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration is asking the Supreme Court to block the Texas law banning most abortions, while the fight over the measure's validity plays out in the courts. The law has been in effect since September, aside from a district court-ordered pause that lasted just 48 hours, and bans abortions once cardiac activity is detected, usually around six weeks and before some women know they are pregnant. do we need to replace the saying equal justice on the law/.on the entrance way to the supreme court of the USA/.APPEARS THAT IS THE CASE AS THE SCOTUS RUNS AMUCK/. Will they decide that the Federal Government doesn't have standing? Most abortions should be banned as too many people use it as a contraceptive so they can continue to make poor choices and be irresponsible.

Biden administration asks U.S. Supreme Court to block Texas abortion lawWASHINGTON (Reuters) -President Joe Biden's administration on Monday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to block a Texas law that imposes a near-total ban on abortion after a lower court reinstated the Republican-backed measure. The administration made its request to the Supreme Court seeking to quickly reverse a decision by the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to lift a judge's order blocking the law while litigation over the matter continues. The Justice Department told the justices in a filing that the 5th Circuit's action 'enables Texas's ongoing nullification of this court's precedents and its citizens' constitutional rights.' We need to remember that a baby has the right to live EveryLifeFromTheWombToTheDeatBedToJesus! Abortion is murder! We need to remember EveryLifeFromTheWombToTheDeathBedMattersToJesus! Texas values life and their abortion ban needs to continue!
