Texas abortion: Judge temporarily blocks enforcement of law

A federal judge has temporarily blocked a controversial new law in Texas that effectively bans women from having an abortion in the state.

Judge Pitman, of Austin, wrote in an 113-page opinion that, from the moment the law came into effect on 1 September, "women have been unlawfully prevent from exercising control over their lives in ways that are protected by the Constitution".

Isn’t this how Muslims take over a country by suppressing women’s rights. Get rid of men that have voted this in. No one has the right to dictate to the opposite sex.

It’s maddening that GregAbbott_TX sees himself and TexasGOP as being above the set rights of women. It essentially means that they think they can act beyond US law. That’s not how it works. This is a stop-gap measure. The real showdown comes later. SaveWomensRights
